To discover new life in Christ, let God's Word, the Bible, be your guide:
Realize that God loves you and created you to know Him personally.
John 3:16 says, 'For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.' John 17:3 says, 'Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the one true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.'
Recognize that your heart tends to run from God and your personal sin has created a barrier so that you cannot know Him personally or experience His love.
Romans 3:23 says, 'For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.' Isaiah 59:2 says, 'But your iniquities have separated you from your God.'
Understand that Jesus Christ is the only way to overcome the barrier caused by your sin.
Romans 5:8 says, 'But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.' Romans 6:23 says, 'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
Receive Jesus into your life by turning from sin and trusting Him as Savior and Lord.
John 1:12 says, 'But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God even to those who believe in His name.' Ephesians 2:8 says, 'For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast.'
You can receive Jesus right now by faith through prayer.
If you are choosing to believe Jesus died for your sins and to receive new life through Him, pray a prayer similar to this:
'Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life and make me the kind of person you want me to be.'
